good mourning.

lying towards

the sky.

neat shards

of blue

peek through the window.

sickened,

I attempt to close

my eyes

but

the day

won’t

wait for me

won’t

let me be

won’t

set me free.

empty space

behind me

clothed by

textiles

clean and white–

unsullied

in the day

but stained by

well-salted sorrow

throughout the night.

the warrior

lacks

the strength to fight.

the tiger’s

lost

most of her stripes.

another day.

can’t find a way

awake.
