_717

Waiting to exhale, I turn myself inside out.

Been thinking ‘bout thinkin’ too much, fallin’ prey to doubt.

What can I do, can I say to make myself clear?

Been dreaming of you and I getting away from here.

It’s been a queer kinda year for me, baby.

Do you feel me on that? Circle ‘yes’, ‘no’, or ‘maybe’.

There’s nothin’ I wouldn’t do to pull the sky’s stars down for you.

There’s nothin’ I’d ever do to make your heart bleed shades of blue.

Seventh month on the seventeenth day.

Almost thirty-four years— Always known what to say.

Got a lump in my throat.

Have an ache in my chest.

Almost thirty-four years— Now I’m speechless.

When I try to speak all my words turn to nothing.

When I try to love I start running from something.

I’m so out of fashion! Silk heart on my sleeve.

But: Vivre sans aimer n’est pas proprement vivre.

Show and tell me your story– share the darkness and pain.

Swear to love you regardless. Will you promise the same?

Tried bribing the longing to leave, but it won’t.

We’ll be crazy to do this, still lost if we don’t.

Seventh month on the seventeenth day.

Almost thirty-four years— Always known what to say.

Got a lump in my throat.

Have an ache in my chest.

Almost thirty-four years— Now I’m speechless.
